LOWER THAT PRESSURE – BLOOD PRESSURE Herbal Tea

WHAT DOES IT DO?

THIS TEA IS A BLOOD PRESSURE CONTROLLER. IT HELPS TO INCREASE BONE DENSITY, HELPS PREVENT DIABETES AND AIDS IN WEIGHT LOSS

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Rooibos tea is a traditional beverage made from the leaves of a South African shrub. It is consumed in a similar way to black tea and contains many antioxidants. Low calorie and naturally sweet, with the help of the antioxidants and balancing blood sugar, rooibos tea can be a great addition to your beverage choices while trying to lose weight.

Native to South Africa, rooibos has been used to relieve eczema, allergies, babies with colic and insomnia for hundreds of years. The benefits of rooibos tea also include soothing an upset stomach, promoting better sleep and adding a delicious dose of antioxidants to your diet.

Research suggests that aspalathin, an active ingredient in rooibos tea, helps reduce stress hormones that trigger hunger and fat storage, which is also linked to heart disease, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Data from this study shows that rooibos tea has the potential for preventing obesity by affecting the balance of energy and how it’s used, whether as energy or stored as fat.

Rooibos tea may benefit heart health by positively affecting blood pressure. It may also lower "bad" LDL cholesterol and raise "good" HDL cholesterol in those at risk of heart disease.

The variety of polyphenols in rooibos tea has been shown to improve osteoblast activity (aka cells that develop bones). The flavonoids orientin and luteolin were specifically studied on bone cells and showed an increased level of bone growth and mitochondrial activity. These flavonoids enhanced the mineral content of the bone cells used in the study, suggesting that rooibos tea had an overall improvement in bone growth.

HOW DOES IT TASTE?

  • 🍓 LOWER THAT PRESSURE has a berry fruit flavour and the smell is delicious. This tea is safe for everyone in the family. I ferment this tea in spring and turn it into a tasty fizzy berry tea.

HOW DO I TAKE IT?

You can take this tea all day long. Just use a small amount of herbs (what you can pinch between 2 fingers) and prepare 1.000 ml of tea. Add hot water and let it sit for about 6-8 minutes. The benefits of rooibos tea include soothing an upset stomach, promoting better sleep and adding a delicious dose of antioxidants to your diet.

For an extra boost, you can add lemon, mint and ginger. For kids, I recommend adding a few blueberries or strawberries.

Take precaution if you are on high blood pressure medication. This tea should not be taken at the same time as your medication.
