Water kefir is a probiotic beverage linked to various health benefits, including improved immunity and even protection against certain types of cancer. Dairy-free and vegan-friendly, this tasty beverage offers beneficial bacteria and yeast and can easily be made at home from sugar water and water kefir grains

Water kefir grains have a large variety of bacteria are among four genus groups: Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, Acetobacter, Streptococcus and Yeasts.

Water kefir grains, if looked after properly, will produce water kefir indefinitely, this means, that you can make delicious water kefir for the rest of your life.

Water kefir is very easy to ferment:

Place the grains in water with sugar, cover in an airtight container (to create a fizzy drink 😎 😎) and leave out of direct sunlight in a warm room for 24 hours or more, now when the days get warmer you can have a beautiful first fermentation probiotic within one day. In colder months it might take up to 48 hours.

20 grams of water kefir grains are ideal for making 500ml of water.

40 grams of water kefir grains are ideal for making 1 litre of water.

When purchasing the grains, a full sheet of instructions will be provided. I will also put up some videos on the blog for simple water kefir ideas and well being of the grains.
